Just Another Adventure

Well, as they say bad things happen in threes. And I’m here to tell you, yup. When we decided to downsize, I knew there was a lot involved. Mainly putting so much into storage. When I got the unit, a 10×30, I was thinking, big enough. ya that was a joke. After 25 years of marriage, stuff accumulates. So, four units later and 3 U-Haul trucks and countless SUV and trailer combo. We packed the storage. Oh, and I can’t forget the 33 boxes of clothes donated to the Salvation Army.
It was during our trailer hauls my breaks began to fail. Then the red light came on. So, trying to be safety cautions, I parked the truck. It took me a week to locate someone to come and repair my brakes. A mobile mechanic. The first issue was the dam lug nut key that “secures” the tire was shot. Fortunately, he was able to get the tire off. Then the second tire had the wrong key. Again, he was able to get the tire off. And of course, what I thought was going to be a simple replace the pads and move on didn’t work that way. The router on one side was so bad, he had to replace it. Luckily it didn’t damage the caliper. However, after all was said and done, I still saved myself about $240.
Life is full of bumps and this last week has had a few of them. However, keeping in mind that its only temporary, we pushed through. As I sit and write this, I eagerly wait for 0800 on Monday when I begin the next chapter in life. After 1.5 years of painstaking rejections and denials, I landed a job as in computer support. Working closely with SQL and database troubleshooting. It’s a step in the right direction. What I’m prouder of is after the long search, I found a firm willing to pay me what I’m worth. And believe me they will get every dime worth. I’m not trying to put the horse in front of the cart, but I’m really excited. Someone once told me doing something you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life….
